La représentation et parler en public / Reprensentation and public speaking

(English below) En très peu de temps, je suis devenue la porte-parole francophone des jeunes Verts. Dimanche passé, j’ai donné une présentation sur la façon de travailler avec la jeunesse dans une association de circonscription électorale et comment mettre en place un club de campus. Ce vendredi, un journaliste de CBC en Saskatchewan cherchait un jeune Vert francophone pour son émission de radio en relation avec le jour de la Terre. Samedi soir (hier), on m’appelle et on m’écrit pour discourir au nom du Parti Vert du Canada une fois la marche pour Kyoto terminée.
Je dois représenter une variété de membres du Parti Vert. J’ai donc demandé leur contribution, et confronté ce soir mes idées avec celles d’une environnementaliste ne votant pas Vert pour mieux comprendre là où nous échouons. C’est incroyable la pression qu’il peut y avoir à parler devant une foule de 100 000 personnes, en plus du fait que chaque parti politique aura deux minutes et qu’elles pourraient être cruciales pour le nôtre. J’ai réalisé que les possibilités d’avancement dans un parti en croissance sont énormes. J’ai finalement compris à quoi j’allais utiliser cette spiritualité étrange qui règne dans ma famille; à rejoindre les gens. Je vais commencer à exploiter ce don aujourd’hui en ouvrant mon coeur à une parfaite communication avec la foule.

Fairly rapidly, I became the francophone spokeperson of the young Greens. Last Sunday, I gave a presentation on how to work with youth in an electoral district association and how to set up a campus club. This Friday, a CBC journalist in Saskatchewan was looking for a young francophone Green for his radio show about Earth Day. Saturday night (yesterday), people wrote and phoned me to make a speech for the Green Party of Canada after the Kyoto march.

I must therefore represent a variety of members of the Green Party. I thus asked their contribution, then confronted my ideas with those of an environmentalist who doesn’t vote Green to understand where we are failing. It is incredible the pressure one can had by just thinking about speaking in front of a 100′000 people crowd, in addition to the fact that each political party will have two minutes, and they might be crucial for ours. I realized that possibilities of moving forward in an emerging party are enormous. I finally understood how I was going to use that strange spirituality going on in my family; to reach out for people. I will start to exploit that gift today by opening my heart in perfect comunication with the mass.
